What We Believe

At the St. Elmo Church of Christ, our goal is simple: to follow Jesus and worship according to His Word. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it provides a clear and meaningful pattern for our faith and practice. When you visit, you’ll find a warm and friendly group of people from all walks of life, gathered to grow closer to God and each other.

What to Expect in Worship:

  • Singing: Our worship includes heartfelt a cappella singing (voices only) just as the earliest Christians practiced. It’s a beautiful and simple way we praise God together.

  • The Lord’s Supper: Each Sunday, we remember the death and resurrection of Jesus through the Lord’s Supper. It helps us stay centered on the heart of the Gospel.

  • Giving: We take up a voluntary offering each week, but visitors are never expected to give.

  • Bible Study: Before worship, we offer Bible classes for all ages. Whether you're new to the Bible or have studied it for years, there’s something for everyone.

Becoming a Christian:

We believe that becoming a Christian is about responding to the good news of Jesus with faith and a willing heart.

The Bible teaches that when someone believes in Jesus, turns away from sin, confesses Jesus as the Christ, and is baptized, God adds them to His church (Acts 2:36–41).

Scripture describes this church as one body united by the Spirit (Ephesians 4:4; 1 Corinthians 12:13). This isn’t about joining a group. It’s about being united with Christ through grace and obedience.

If you're exploring what it means to follow Jesus, we would love to open the Bible with you, answer questions, and walk with you in faith. Whether you're ready to take the next step or just beginning to seek, you’re always welcome here.

We’re a small and friendly church family committed to growing in faith, love, and service. Whether you're just curious or looking for a church home, we’d be honored to have you visit.
